Project Overview

The POS Handover Module was strategically developed for ACI Logistics Limited (Shwapno), the largest retail chain in Bangladesh, to modernize and secure their critical end-of-shift cash verification process. The business problem was severe: the legacy system relied entirely on manual registry books and fragmented Excel entries. This manual process was highly prone to human error, incredibly time-consuming for managers who had to cross-check physical cash against sales reports, and completely lacked real-time visibility for "short" or "over" cash amounts throughout the deposit cycle. My methodology involved comprehensive process mapping using Visio to understand the exact flow of cash from the register to the bank. I then authored detailed PRDs and designed intuitive interfaces in Figma for the POS operators. The solution I delivered is a real-time platform where operators declare cash denominations upon shift close. The system automatically compares these submitted amounts against EPS (Electronic Point of Sale) data, instantly flagging deviations. It tracks the entire lifecycle of cash—from the operator's till to the company vault, and finally to G4S or bank deposits. The outcome was transformative: we completely eliminated manual registry books, significantly reducing processing time. We achieved 100% visibility of cash tracking across all retail terminals, drastically reduced cash mismatches through automated reconciliation, and enhanced overall financial security with digital audit trails.

The Challenge

The legacy system relied on manual registers and Excel entries, which were prone to human error, time-consuming for managers to cross-check against sales reports, and lacked visibility for "short" or "over" amounts throughout the deposit cycle.

The Solution

Built a real-time platform where operators declare denominations upon shift close. The system automatically compares submitted amounts against EPS (Electronic Point of Sale) data, flags deviations, and tracks the lifecycle of cash from the register to the company vault and finally to bank deposits.
