Project Overview

Academizz is a comprehensive, multi-platform academic resource ecosystem designed to solve a major pain point for university students. The core business problem was that vital academic resources—such as lecture notes, past exams, and solutions—were chaotically scattered across Facebook groups, Google Drive links, and various chat applications. This lack of structured indexing made it incredibly difficult and time-consuming for students to find specific study materials when they needed them most. To solve this, I architected and developed a centralized ecosystem using Next.js for the web frontend, Flutter for the mobile app, and a robust FastAPI backend powered by PostgreSQL. My methodology involved creating a highly structured uploading system with granular metadata tagging (University, Department, Subject, Course) to ensure perfect searchability. Furthermore, I engineered a "Contributor Economy" logic that tracks unique downloads and ratings, allowing content creators to earn payouts from a monthly prize pool, thereby incentivizing high-quality uploads. I also built a smart, rich-text question bank capable of handling complex equations and charts for future model test generation. The outcome was highly successful: Academizz saw rapid early adoption across multiple university departments, providing a structured repository for thousands of academic resources and laying a solid technical foundation for future subscription-based monetization.

The Challenge

Academic resources were scattered across FB groups, drive links, and chat apps with no structured indexing, making it hard for students to find specific lecture notes or past exam solutions.

The Solution

A centralized ecosystem with structured uploading, metadata tagging (University, Subject, Course), and a smart question bank for model tests.
